SRC Bookkeeping & Tax is now accepting new small business clients across The Woodlands and Greater Houston.

Woodlands firm founded by Shane Christenson offers monthly bookkeeping and tax preparation under one roof for small businesses across Greater Houston.

THE WOODLANDS, TX, UNITED STATES, August 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- SRC Bookkeeping & Tax, a bookkeeping and tax practice based in The Woodlands, Texas, is now accepting new clients for monthly bookkeeping, business and personal tax preparation, and financial advisory services. The firm serves small businesses across The Woodlands and the Greater Houston area, including Conroe, Spring, Kingwood, and surrounding communities.

Founded by Shane Christenson, the firm handles both the monthly books and the annual tax returns for its clients, with flat monthly rates and direct communication with the owner rather than a call center or offshore team. Because the same practice maintains the records throughout the year, tax preparation draws on books that are already organized, reconciled, and current.

"When one firm handles both the books and the taxes, nothing gets lost in a handoff between providers," Christenson said. "The records stay organized all year, and by the time filing season arrives most of the work is already done."

The firm's services include full-service bookkeeping with transaction categorization, bank and credit card reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting, along with catch-up bookkeeping for businesses that have fallen behind. Additional services cover business tax returns, personal tax returns, QuickBooks Online setup and training, payroll system setup, 1099 preparation, budgeting and cash flow forecasting, and external controller and fractional CFO support. For project-based and product businesses, the firm also provides construction job costing and inventory accounting.

SRC Bookkeeping & Tax works with contractors and skilled trades companies, auto shops, manufacturers, restaurants and bars, retail and e-commerce businesses, real estate lessors, farms, and nonprofits. Christenson brings direct staff experience in nonprofit accounting, including Form 990 preparation and restricted fund tracking, and a personal background in agriculture from his years handling the books for his family's farming operation in Iowa.

Christenson earned a degree in Accounting and Finance from Iowa State University. He began his career at U.S. Bank in credit review, analyzing the financial statements and loan portfolios of commercial borrowers. He then moved into public accounting at Eide Bailly, working on audits and financial statement preparation, and later served as a staff accountant for an Iowa nonprofit, where he handled monthly reporting, payroll, reconciliations, 1099 filings, and audit coordination.

"I grew up doing the books for our family farm, so I know how it feels to handle the finances while running everything else," Christenson said. "My years in banking, auditing, and nonprofit accounting showed me what clean records look like from the professional side. I started this firm to bring both perspectives to business owners here in the Houston area."

The firm works with clients remotely or in person. Small business owners in The Woodlands or Greater Houston can request a consultation through the firm's website or by phone.
