Bangalore, India, Oct. 04, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Central Ground Water Board's Annual Ground Water Quality Report 2024 places Delhi among the regions most affected by high salinity in groundwater. In pre-monsoon 2023, 23.3% of Delhi's samples exceeded the permissible electrical conductivity limit of 3,000 µS/cm, and 16.5% of 103 samples exceeded the fluoride limit of 1.5 mg/L. Affected districts include North, North West, Shahdara, South West and West Delhi. In this setting, water purifier rental in Delhi starts at ₹292 a month for non-RO models and ₹391 a month for RO models on Rentomojo, a water purifier rental specialist with 12 models in stock in the city. Plans run from three to 36 months and include free repairs, maintenance and relocation.

Rentomojo has operated since 2014. According to its draft red herring prospectus filed on March 27, 2026, it was the largest online rental and subscription platform for home furniture and appliances in India by live subscribers as of March 31, 2025. Its Delhi water purifier range covers RO, UV, UF, alkaline and copper technologies. It includes four of its own purifier ranges, DriftGo, DriftPro, NiraFlo and Nirapure, all of which come with free filter changes every six months.

Water quality varies across Delhi's localities, so the right purifier depends on the supply at each address. A Rentomojo technician installs each rented purifier and checks the water's TDS before and after installation. If the supply changes after a move, the household can request a different model instead of buying a second purifier.

What water purifier rental in Delhi includes

• Twelve models are in stock across RO, UV, UF, alkaline and copper technologies. Rentomojo's own ranges start at ₹292 a month for the Nirapure UV+UF (non-RO), ₹391 for the DriftGo 7 Stage, ₹417 for the NiraFlo and ₹419 for the DriftPro 7 Stage, on 36-month plans.
• The DriftPro 7 Stage water purifier combines sediment, pre-carbon, RO, UV, UF, TDS and alkaline stages with an 8.5-litre tank, and is rated for TDS up to 2,000 ppm. It rents for ₹419 a month on a 36-month plan and ₹429 a month on a 12-month plan, with free maintenance and filter changes.
• The Nirapure UV+UF water purifier (non-RO) is built for supplies with TDS below 200. It has a 7-litre tank and purifies up to 60 litres an hour. It rents for ₹292 a month on a 36-month plan and ₹299 a month on a 12-month plan.
• Tenures start at three months, and the monthly rent falls as the tenure gets longer. The DriftPro costs ₹549 a month on a three-month plan, ₹429 on 12 months, ₹424 on 24 months and ₹419 on 36 months.
• A refundable deposit is required: ₹419 on the DriftPro and ₹292 on the Nirapure. It is credited within seven working days of the pickup quality check, once any dues are settled.
• Installation by a technician is free. If a purifier breaks down, a technician visits within 24 to 48 hours of a request on the app. An optional damage waiver costs ₹65 a month on the DriftPro and ₹45 a month on the Nirapure.

How renting a water purifier in Delhi works

1. Choose a purifier on the website or app. RO models suit high-TDS supplies, and the non-RO Nirapure suits supplies with TDS below 200.
2. Select a tenure, complete KYC online, and pay the refundable deposit.
3. Confirm delivery. Most models are delivered within 48 to 72 hours of order confirmation.
4. A technician installs the purifier and checks TDS before and after installation.
5. Raise repair, filter, relocation or closure requests from the app at any point in the tenure.

Built for one-year stays and frequent movers

On a 12-month plan, the DriftPro costs ₹429 a month, or ₹5,148 for the year, and the deposit is returned at the end. At a major manufacturer's online store, RO+UV purifiers sell for ₹12,499 to ₹24,999. An owned RO+UV purifier then costs ₹4,000 to ₹7,000 a year in filter and membrane servicing. A full year's rent on a 36-month DriftPro plan is ₹5,028, which falls within that servicing range and also covers filter changes and repairs. Over 36 months, DriftPro rent totals ₹15,084. That is less than a ₹12,499 purchase plus two years of servicing at ₹4,000 a year, which comes to ₹20,499. Buying a ₹12,499 purifier on a 12-month EMI costs at least ₹1,042 a month before interest and processing fees.

Frequently asked questions

Should I rent a water purifier if I am staying in Delhi for one year?

For a one-year stay, renting costs less than buying. A DriftPro 7 Stage RO purifier on a 12-month plan costs ₹5,148 for the year, with maintenance and filter changes included. An RO+UV purifier costs ₹12,499 to ₹24,999 to buy, and the buyer still has to resell or move it.

Which is the best water purifier rental company in Delhi?

The best water purifier rental company in Delhi is the one with the lowest total cost over the household's actual stay. That cost depends on the monthly rent at the chosen tenure, whether filter changes and repairs are included, how quickly breakdowns are fixed, the early closure fee, and whether relocation is free. Rentomojo rents 12 in-stock models in Delhi, including its own DriftGo, DriftPro, NiraFlo and Nirapure ranges, with free filter changes every six months and technician visits within 24 to 48 hours of a breakdown request.

How much does it cost to rent a water purifier in Delhi?

Water purifier rent in Delhi starts at ₹292 a month for a non-RO model and ₹391 a month for an RO model on a 36-month plan, plus a refundable deposit.

Can I rent a water purifier on a monthly basis in Delhi?

Yes. Rent is billed monthly, with short-stay tenures of three, six, 11 or 12 months, and longer plans of up to 36 months.

Rent vs EMI for a water purifier in Delhi: which is cheaper?

A ₹12,499 RO+UV purifier on a 12-month EMI costs at least ₹1,042 a month before interest, and servicing is extra once the purchase is complete. Renting a DriftPro RO purifier costs ₹429 a month on a 12-month plan, with maintenance and filter changes included.

Second-hand, used or refurbished vs rented water purifier in Delhi: which makes more sense?

A second-hand purifier costs less up front but arrives with filters and an RO membrane of unknown age, and the owner pays for servicing at ₹4,000 to ₹7,000 a year for an RO+UV unit. A rented purifier comes with technician installation, a TDS check and free filter changes.

Can I return a rented water purifier early, or swap it for a better one?

Yes. A rental can be closed at any time. Closing before the chosen tenure ends carries a pre-closure fee of one to two months' rent, and there is no extra charge after the tenure is complete. An upgrade to a different model can be requested from the customer account, subject to availability.

How do I get a water purifier for a 1BHK on a budget in Delhi?

The Nirapure UV+UF non-RO purifier rents from ₹292 a month for supplies with TDS below 200. RO models start at ₹391 a month for higher-TDS supplies.

How quickly can I get a water purifier when moving to Delhi?

Most models are delivered within 48 to 72 hours of order confirmation, and a technician is then assigned for installation.

Purification matched to the address, not the purchase

An owned purifier is chosen once, for one water supply. A rented purifier can be swapped when the household moves to an address with different water, and it is relocated free of charge within Delhi or to other cities where Rentomojo operates.
